A Word From David

Dear New Client:

I will look forward to meeting with you and would to introduce myself. I was born in North Dakota and lived there on a farm until I graduated from high school. After high school I enlisted in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. When I was honorably discharged I went to college in North Dakota and graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelors in Science. I went to graduate school at Kansas State University , where I graduated with a Master’s of Science in Psychology. Upon graduation I worked at Hastings Regional Center. During my work at Hastings Regional Center I spent 2 years in the psychiatric unit and one year as the staff psychologist in the alcohol treatment unit. While working in Hastings, Nebraska I met my wife, Linda and was married. I went to Kearney to work at the Mental Health Center. While in Kearney I was an outpatient counselor and the Director of the Adult Day Treatment Program.

We moved to El Dorado Arkansas and was employed as an outpatient therapist and as the Director of the Adult Psychiatric Day treatment Program. During the time I became licensed as a Psychological Examiner. I returned to Grand Island, Nebraska in 1980 where I was an outpatient therapist and the Director of the Adult Psychiatric Day Treatment Program. I worked at Mid-Plains Center for Professional Services until 1994. While at Mid-Plains Center I became involved with the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team, I continued that work for 13 years.

I went into private practice in 1994 and became licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner. I was given a grant to work with the Veterans returning for Vietnam and ran a Rap-group for 6 years. I have worked with individuals, children, and marriage and family issues. I have served as a representative of Nebraska for the North American Council for Adoptable Children.

In 2010 I received my basic training for the Low Energy Neurofeedback System. This system has a significant impact on many of life’s difficult issues; such as depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, Obsession/compulsion; closed head injury; chronic fatigue syndrome; fibromyalgia; dissociative disorder, attention –deficit disorder and autism in children and adults.

In 2015 I received my Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner.
